Slam Rules: no props, no costumes, no musical instruments, original work only, no racist, homophobic, gender bias or otherwise hateful speech allowed, memorization optional, team pieces welcome.

SEPTEMBER HYP SLAM FEATURE: CHUKKY IBE

Chukky Ibe is an award winning person. When he was 12 he won an award for being punctual at school, and at 16, he won an award for being amiable. Chukky is actively working towards doing something with his life. He has not quite figured it out yet but he sleeps with his finger crossed. On a good day he is 6 ft 5 inches tall and is reaching for happiness. In the morning Chukky advices the federal minister of Seniors in Ottawa. And in the evening he sleeps. On the weekends and holidays he writes plays, poetry and creative non-fiction. Chukky has traveled with HYP reaching the finals of the Canadian festival of spoken word and placing second at the Ontario poetry slam finals. He currently practices his craft in Ottawa and is happy to be home in Hamilton. He will be performing from his collection; Country, God or the girl.
