Every fourth Sunday of the month, HYP hosts a poetry slam at the Spice Factory (121 Hughson Street). This night brings together poets of all styles to share their work through an open mic or slam poetry competition. Let us know you're coming by visiting our Facebook Event.

In the Spotlight is a new segment we're introducing to the newsletter. Each month we'll feature a different artist and include fun facts, photos, links and more... In the Spotlight this month is Fannon!

Fannon comes to us from Pittsburgh, via Chicago, where he met his Canadian wife. That just proves he has great taste in women. He is also putting his BA in Theatre to good use as a proud member of multiple Guelph Poetry teams; one of which became the 2016 CFSW national champions. Among other ego stroking accolades, that he will not bore you with, Fannon is honoured to share his work with spoken word communities because it keeps him young... and good looking... and humble.

Dear Daughter by Fannon

If you'd like to hear more of Fannon's work, join us on Sunday, March 24 from 6-9 pm at The Spice Factory, 121 Hughson Street North, for the March edition of HYP Slam featuring Fannon! The night will also include an open mic and poetry slam. $5 cover at the door. All ages and voices are welcome!
