The competition to determine the city youth poetry champions at Louder Than A Bomb Canada 2017 began today as 12 teams took the stage and performed individual and team pieces. St. Benedict, Bishop Ryan, Sir. John A. McDonald and Cardinal Newman competed at the Hamilton Art Gallery Pavilion.
The runners up of the first bout in the AGH Pavilion were Bishop Ryan with 107.3 points, third place ringing in at 106.2 points was St.Benedict, and fourth place was Sir John A. MacDonald with 104.3. The winners of the first bout in the pavilion were team Slamurai from Cardinal Newman with 110.5.

Bout four of the day began with four teams, Ancaster, Cathedral, Delta Secondary, along with Wildcard Team B in the AGH pavilion this afternoon. We heard powerful performances from individual poets and team performances.
The winners of the fourth bout came from Cathedral High School, with 108.5 points, closely followed by Delta Secondary with 108.1 points.
With the quality of spoken word presented during the first Preliminary Bouts, you won't want to miss Day 2 on May 10 from 10am-4pm at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.
